After long years of being on sale, KTM RC has finally received its first substantial update. The Austrian bike maker has just taken the wraps off 2022 rc390 rc200 and rc125. The upcoming KTM RC has lots of changes that you need to know.
Upcoming KTM RC design
The most obvious change of KTM upcoming bikes in India 2022 is the design while it's all about straight lines everywhere. KTM upcoming bikes in India 2022 would not look as sharp as the current generation RC, as KTM says the new bodywork has been inspired by the RC a16 moto GP bike for improved aerodynamics.
as you can see in this picture 2022 RC coming with the duke inspired led headlight flanked by the wide and flat fairing with the integrated indicators has made it lose some of its sleeknesses. The side RC looks ready to race and the new bodywork is improved engine cooling, there are new vents around the side that channel hot air from around the engine away. The new RC has combined with the side-mounted radiator fans should not only keep the engine cool it should also help in not cooking riders legs in slow-moving traffic. The new RC will come with a larger 13.5L fuel tank and roomier seating for both rider and pillion and a more premium finish for the seats that will provide better grip. The new KTM rc390 finally gets the full-colour TFT instrument cluster that we got on the 2017 duke and later on rc390 adventure, the new instrument cluster got easy access to all the settings of the motorcycle and also 2022 ktm rc offers Bluetooth connectivity using the ktm myriad app.
2022 KTM RC Engine Specs
As per the European version, 2022 ktm rc does not get any major updates for the engines, there will be minor improvements internally to reduce friction and increase fuel efficiency. The new RC could come with a larger airbox for improved breathability for improved torque across the range.
KTM India doesn't give specified power figures for the new rc but we hope the 2022 ktm RC engine will make the one-newton meter more than before. The new rc gets a new exhaust system and has been rerouted with a new stainless steel header and an aluminium muffler which normally saves bait but is set to produce a more evocative soundtrack and looks. apart from the engine i would also like to see, the ride by wire throttle that we got with the last-gen, and there are still no riding modes on offer but just like what ktm did with the 390 adventure this one gets imu based rider asses these cornering abs as well as traction control making this the first small capacity supersport to get these features, and there's also an optional quick shifter that you can get.
2022 KTM RC Features
The 2022 ktm rc features slightly relaxed ergonomics compared to the outgoing model. ktm has achieved this by using a new pair of clip-on that is set 15 mm higher than before but these can be lowered by 10 mm for a track-related riding position. The new ktm rc comes with not only cosmetic changes but also makes big changes under the skin too.
The main trellis frame looks almost the same as before but there's a new bolt-on subframe like what we got on the 390 dukes in 2017. ktm claims 1.5 kilos of weight savings with this setup there are more weight savings to be had With the new 5 spoke alloy wheels 2 a whopping 3.4 kilos combined and the new lighter brick rotors shed almost an additional kilo from the bikes on sprung mass this should mean that the RC's already sharp handling should have become even sharper still which is great news for budding track day enthusiasts. In terms of suspension, the non-adjustable wb apex big piston fork and mono-shock on the RC 125 and 200 have been reworked to offer a sportier ride on the RC 390. The front suspension gets adjustability for compression and ktm could ditch the adjustable suspension for India in order to keep costs down.
KTM RC upcoming model price launch date
Talking about the KTM rc upcoming model launch date, there is no official launch date from the ktm yet, but I expect to see the new rc near the festive session which could be November, or it could be spread launches of each rc model. Talking about the price of the upcoming ktm rc price I expect a price bump of rupees 8000 to 10000 over the current models while the rc390 might get an even larger increase putting it a little under 3 lakh rupees a showroom.
